For sixty-two years the maison has made and kept the furniture of the modern canon — pieces built for a century of use, presented in Paris, New York and Milan.

A house of slow furniture.

Maison Varenne began in 1962 as a single bench in the Faubourg Saint-Antoine. Today the maison keeps three showrooms and one conviction: that a piece of furniture is not finished when it is sold, but begun. We make our own editions — the Table de Ferme, the Lit Nº 4 — and we present the canon of the twentieth century with the same reverence: the Eameses, Mies, Wegner, Henningsen, Noguchi.

Every piece is chosen against one measure — will it improve across fifty years of use? What passes is offered here. Nothing else is.
